Photos of Downtown (Congress and Sixth Street) Austin, Texas taken March 30, 2012.

Just in case you didn't know where you were...

Street art in Downtown Austin

More artwork from a talented artist

Good eats and Shiner street art.  Wonderful subject!

Anyone hungry for some Chupacabra?

Frost Bank Headquarters, aka the "Owl Building"

Interesting details in front of a building on Congress St.

A building waiting for some TLC along Congress

...and we're walking...

Note the lovely details of the white building face

Walking past the Driskill Hotel is a must on Sixth St.  It has been named one of the most haunted hotels in America.  Scary!

The Driskill

A nice architectural detail from the right front corner of the Driskill Hotel facing Sixth St.

Where we stopped for lunch

Pizza!!  Yummy.

The neat old Coca-Cola sign on the patio wall at Roppolo's Pizzeria

I wonder if they delivered in 30 minutes or less on that bicycle?

A Walk Through The City

This tree reminds me of an Ent with his long arms and enormous hair.  I can even make out a pair of eyes!

Cool looking old bridge along the trail

Where does it go?

This trail is so cute, it'll make you're head hurt....or it might be your allergies.

Who could fit down that manhole?  A munchkin?!

Lovely

The news said that the yellow flowers here are called Bastard Cabbage.  They choke out Bluebonnets in many parts of Central Texas and apparently have been particularly bad this year.  To quote a local news anchor... "Let's get those bastards!"

These lights are killer.  Pflugerville's trail system is wonderful and so well thought out.  A tunnel is used any time the trail intersects a street so there is no danger of pedestrian and car coming in contact with each other.

Another view of the industrial looking lights on the trail

Old House and Bluebonnets

House photos are of the Bohls House in Pflugerville, Texas.

Extreme closeup of the front doorknob....lovely details!

Staircase leading to the front porch

Water tower next to house

Another view of the water tower

The house isn't really this creepy, the colors are inverted to make the plaque easier to read.

Bluebonnets and Cactus....Springtime in Texas!

It's not an old house or bluebonnets, but it's cool and i like it...
